THIS WEEKEND'S FIXTURE - -Chelsea Vs Everton So here it is the last game of the season and we are up against the blue side of Beatle country. We actually have a decent home record against the toffeemen, having played them a total of 67 times. As for WLD’S we have lost just 12, drawn 20 and won 35. We have scored twice as many goals as them, scoring 125 against 62. Thankfully there hasn’t been that many big defeats, the biggest being 1-3 way back on Mar 15th 1913, high scoring draws are at a premium to with the best being a couple of 3-3’s, one on Nov 14th 1908, the other on Oct 01st 61 with Greaves Livesey & Blunstone getting the goals. As for the win column, Everton seem to be one of our favorite fixtures at home. There have been a ton of 1-0’s 2-0’s,quite a few 3-0’s & a couple of 4-0’s,but our biggest win was a 6-0 on Sept 11th 48, with goals coming from Macauley, Campbell, Bowie, Bentley 2 & Walker. Our last big win was on Nov 14th 64 where a crowd of 30,716 saw us come out 5-1 winners.

Recent Stats: Since the start of the Premier League we have played Everton a total of 29 times, of which we have a WLD’S record of 15 wins,5 defeats & 9 draws, we have scored 45 times against their 29. We have a decent record of late, just one defeat since Jan 18th 98, since then we have won 10 & drawn 6. Of these games our biggest win was a 4-1 on Apr 21st 03 with goals coming from Gronkjaer, Eidur, Jimmy & Franco. The season I’m taking a look at is the only season the toffee men have finished higher than us. And that season is 1995-96. We finished just below halfway with a home record of played 19 won 7 drew 7 & lost 5, we scored 30 times at the Bridge & just 16 times away from home, in total we let in 44 goals and ended the season with a half ton of points. Apart from the arrival of Gullit & Hughes there really wasn’t a great deal to shout about, our best results were 5-0 Vs Middlesbrough & a 4-1 Vs Leeds. John Spencer was the leading scorer with 13 goals from 28 games. We also had an average crowd of 25,598 with a ground capacity of 31,791

CHELSEA LEGEND: This week’s ledge is our vice captain. Frank Lampard. When Lamps first came to the club I for one thought that £11m was way too much money, but I’m happy to say that he has gone way beyond any expectations we had of him. He had been on the periphery of the England squad during his time at West Ham but upon joining Chelsea he soon turned into a regular and these days is probably one of the first names on the England team sheet. Lamps has played close on 300 games for us. He is rated one of the best attacking midfielders in today’s game and has an astonishing scoring record. In the 03-04 season he only missed one of the 59 games we played .He also passed the milestone of having played in over 100 consecutive games, a record that went closer to 200 games (which is still the record). He has won personal honors for his outstanding play, but he is also a team player and has helped us won two League cups, and two (more to follow) Premierships. This season Lamps has had to wear the armband a lot more than he had wanted, although not as vocal as our captain JT ,he none the less is an able vice captain and he is always proud to put that blue shirt (and armband) on. Lamps is one player who will always give you 100% effort and nothing less…Frank Lampard a…CHELSEA LEGEND!

I am also on the lookout for any new idea’s, so if you have any please let me know. I would also like to thank you all for your kind words over the past season about the “lessons” and I hope I can improve (if only on me  grammar!!) the lesson’s next season.
